SSRV delivers free webinars on common Centrelink topics, to complement our tailored sessions and to make our community legal education more accessible than ever before. The topics covered in these webinars include Disability Support Pension, Centrelink debts, seeking review of a Centrelink decision, compensation payments and the intersection between Centrelink and family violence.
The response to our both our tailored sessions and webinars has been incredibly positive. In the first six months of this financial year, we delivered community legal education to over 331 workers and community members. Participants range from financial counsellors, social workers, and community lawyers, to health workers and other professionals in the community.
We value the feedback provided by attendees as it supports our planning and development of future sessions. Of the participants who provided feedback after attending a session in the first six months of this financial year, 99 per cent said that following the session they had an improved understanding of SSRV and its services, while 100 per cent said they felt more confident in identifying and responding to client social security matter.
